According to\u00a0al-Turki, the flow of\u00a0drugs into\u00a0Saudi Arabia comes from\u00a0both North and South. The hashish flows into\u00a0the country from\u00a0Yemen. According to\u00a0the representative, the drug trafficking in\u00a0the Saudi kingdom is mostly carried out\u00a0by the mobs from\u00a0Ethiopia, Somalia and other countries. <\/p>\n

In an interview with\u00a0Sputnik, advisor to\u00a0the Information Minister of\u00a0Syria, Ali Al-Akhmad, shared his views on\u00a0the allegations put forward by\u00a0Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen they say that Syria produces drugs, it is necessary to\u00a0determine the location of\u00a0production of\u00a0amphetamine tablets, Captagon and other drugs that were used by\u00a0the so-called revolutionaries at\u00a0the beginning of\u00a0the events<\/a> [in Syria, approx.] to\u00a0suppress basic human instincts,\u201d Al-Akhmad said.<\/p>\n

He further said that, \u201cThey [Saudi Arabia] initially knew about\u00a0the production of\u00a0such narcotic pills and stood behind\u00a0this production in\u00a0the literal and figurative sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

The anti-drug services in\u00a0Syria work around\u00a0the clock keeping an eye open on\u00a0the amphetamine issue but\u00a0there is information that in\u00a0the territories under\u00a0the control of\u00a0Islamist groups there is the production and export of\u00a0narcotic drugs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is precisely those groups that are openly financed by\u00a0Saudi Arabia and Qatar. It does not matter whether they are funding these groups for\u00a0the production of\u00a0drugs, or improvised explosive devices, or for\u00a0human organ trafficking,\u201d Al-Akhmad said.<\/p>\n

The official representative further said that all their activities are immoral<\/a> and directed against\u00a0humanity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Saudi Arabia really wanted to\u00a0solve the problem [drug shipments from\u00a0Syria to\u00a0Saudi Arabia] it would help solve the Syrian crisis and restore the integrity and ability of\u00a0the Syrian government to\u00a0become fully operational.\u201d<\/p>\n

The official representative of\u00a0the Ministry of\u00a0Interior of\u00a0Saudi Arabia, Mansour Al-Turki, said that Syria is the largest country for\u00a0the production of\u00a0amphetamine in\u00a0the region. According to\u00a0him, the largest supply of\u00a0amphetamine in\u00a0the kingdom passes through\u00a0the northern border and hashish through\u00a0the southern, Er-Riyad newspaper published Al-Turki as\u00a0saying.<\/p>\n

\u201cOver the past\u00a06 months, security forces arrested 1,461 people, including 512 Saudis, 364 Yemenis, 86 Pakistanis, 64 Ethiopians, 54 Bangladeshis, 51 Egyptians, 42 Indians, 31 Somalis, 25 Chadians, 23 Syrians, 22 Palestinians, 21 Filipinos and nationals of\u00a0other countries,\u201d Al-Turki said.<\/p>\n

All of\u00a0them were arrested on\u00a0charges of\u00a0establishing connections for\u00a0the import, promotion and distribution of\u00a0drugs, including through\u00a0social networks.<\/p>\n
